In July 1947, the US army recovered a crashed disc from the dessert in New Mexico. The first official press release by the army stated that they were in the possesion of an alien aircraft. A few hours later, the army retracted that statement and claimed that what they actually recovered from the dessert was a weatherballoon.
The whole story blew over for a couple of decades, untill the deathbed confessions came. Retired army personel , who were working on the retrieval back in 1947, spoke of a cover-up. at they had actually retrieved an alien craft and even a couple of alien bodies. The soldiers were asked to keep it quite, under threath of the 10-10 punishment. 10 years in prison and $10.000 fine.Th
After the first person came out, a load of others start comming forward with their story. All of them claiming to have witnessed the cover-up. This was the start of the investigation. Interesseted people started contacting the US government, asking for files about the UFO. Using the freedom of information act, a lot of files could be read by the investigators. However, a whole lot couldnt be.
Investigators found references in the given documents to other (secret) documents about UFO's, Documents they never got, eventho they used the freedom of information act. When the Government was asked about it, they first stated that there were no such documents. According to them, the US government didnt have secret UFO documents.
The investigators sued the government, claiming they were withelding information about the UFO subject. In particular, the documents the investigators knew existed, but never gotten to read. The government cracked... They announced that they actually HAD more documents on the UFO subject, but that they were classified and a matter of national security.
Again the researchers took it to court, still badly wanting the secret documents. The judge had to decide if the documents actually were a matter of national security. The judge never got to read the documents, but he read a simplified version of it. After that, the judge came back into court, told the UFO investigators the documents were a matter of national security and they could not be read by them.
Still to this day, the public doesnt really know what happend in the dessert near Roswell, New Mexico. What the public does know, is that the government is hiding something about it.
